HP launches Brio PCs, starting at $699
Hewlett-Packard Co. announced a line of Brio PCs with estimated U.S. street prices starting as low as $699.
Geared for small business users, the value line will offer on-screen and online tech support. The latter will come via a customized Yahoo! web site that features news, business tips, stock reports, and product-specific service and support content from HP.
The new Brio PCs are based on Intel Celeron and Pentium II processors, and are slated to incorporate Intel Pentium III chips when they become available.
The systems also include Matrox MGA G200 graphics controllers with 8MB video memory, DVD-ROM video playback and integrated audio. The entry-level HP Brio PC features a 333MHz Celeron processor, 4.3GB hard drive, 32MB of SDRAM, and Windows 98.
