Once photos of the test display are taken, they are uploaded onto my desktop computer for review and comparison with the reference images. If I notice a consistent difference in any image quality attributes between the test display photographs and reference images, I will make a slight adjustment to the test display settings. For example, if there is a slight tilt toward green in all the test display photographs, I will move the tint control a few clicks toward red and re-photograph all the screenshots on the test display. My goal is to calibrate each display to match the reference image as closely as possible, to achieve a consistent basis for each comparison.

All photographs are taken with identical settings with the same camera. Here are the details:

Camera Model - Canon A610 5MP Digital Camera
Settings - White balance: Fluorescent Light
Aperture - f/2.8
Shutter Speed - 1/50 to 1/10 second, depending on image
Zoom - 70 mm (middle of zoom range)
Photo Distance - 2x screen width

I have found that these settings produce images that most accurately represent the image attributes when viewing any display. Of course, a digital camera cannot completely render images as faithfully as the naked eye, especially when it comes to overall contrast and shadow detail, so the photos are intended only as a comparative tool.
