We tested at all resolutions with antialiasing and anisotropic filtering disabled in the first run. The second run has the image quality settings at 4xAA (antialiasing) and 8xAF (anisotropic filtering).

With synthetic benchmarks, the Sapphire Radeon X1950Pro Ultimate's performance is about 15%-30% less than that of the top DX9 models. But to put it into perspective, I remember when we were all looking for dual-card solutions that could break 10,000 (October 2004 with dual GeForce 6800 Ultras in SLI). Today, we expect current generation cards to deliver this with a single card. The value to performance shows up when we take a look at the current price tags and see how many marks we get for each dollar.

While a new GeForce 8800GTX might give you 6,000 more marks at 1024x768, it costs three times as much. The Sapphire Radeon X1950 Pro Ultimate is head and shoulders above the competition in terms of performance per dollar.
