Holiday e-shoppers spent $9 billion
Shoppers spent $9 billion online during November and December, according to a new report from an online industry organization.
Shop.org and the Boston Consulting Group surveyed online retailers in major gift categories and found online ordering grew by 270 percent while revenues rose 300 percent compared with the previous year.
While the firm said it believes the strong trend should continue into the new year, other analysts say problems with several stores failing to deliver on holiday promises may have scared many consumers away from online shopping.
