Hitachi launches 120 GByte 2.5" harddrive
Hitachi announced the Travelstar 4K120, a 2.5" harddrive with a capacity of 120 GByte, aplatter rotation speed of 4200 rpm and 8 MByte of cache. The company claims teh device is virtually silent with a noise level of 23 dB. A new power management technology called HiVERT (Hitachi Voltage Efficiency Regulator Technology) enables the drive to consume 30 percent less power than other Hitachi mobile drives, the company said.
