Hitachi announces 50" LCOS retroprojector
This retroprojector is not meant for the masses but rather for the professional market. It has 4 screens, and the 50" screen offers a XGA resolution of 1024x768, with a 1300:1 contrast ratio and the LCOS (Liquid Crystal on Silicon) technology. The advantage of this technology is that the "empty" space between the pixels is reduced, so that it’s virtually impossible to distinguish them. The other advantage of LCOS is the quality of the colour rendering, that is better than anything else currently on the market. Because of these qualities, this kind of product is usually extermely expensive, but the EX50-116CM will be on sale for a more affordable price in September (we have no exact final price at this moment).
