Hitachi 17 Inch LCD Monitor Supports Analog and Digital

Based on Vincent's massive LCD roundup this week, Hitachi calling the new 17" CML170+ LCD monitor "value priced" seems just a little off base. However, "value" is a pretty subjective idea and this new screen does have a few interesting features. The CML170+ is an upgrade to Hitachi's CML170 and supports both digital and analog signals along with adding enhancements in brightness, contrast, and resolution. The new LCD has inputs for 15-pin D-sub and DVI-D. It also delivers 250 nit brightness and a 400:1 contrast ratio with a prime recommended resolution of 1280x1024 at 75 or 60Hz. The CML170+ has an auto-adjust function and comes with integrated speakers, a headphone jack and volume control on the bezel. The CML170+ can be arm or wall mounted with an additional third-party arm and meets VESA Flat Panel Monitor Physical Mounting Interface (FPMPMI) standards. The panel weighs 14 lbs, is 7 inches deep including the base, and features a Kensington Security Port. It is PC and Mac analog compatible. The CML170+ will be available in both Ivory (CML170+) and Black/midnight gray (CML170B+) if you're concerned about whether your monitor matches your curtains. The CML170+ is TCO '99 compliant and the CML170B+ is TCO '95 compliant. The CML170+ will begin shipping on January 16th and the CML170B+ will begin shipping on February 7th. Both models will have an MSRP of $819.00.
