by - source: Tom's Hardware

Hercules announced the launch of 3D Prophet 9800 Pro, its new flagship graphics board based on ATI's latest Radeon 9800 chipset. 3D Prophet 9800 Pro is being called by Hercules "The graphics board for hardcore gamers", which is easy to understand because according to Hercules they have lead the way with a lot of innovative "firsts" over the years such as: first to have tv-out on a consumer board, first to have blue boards, first graphics board to offer have ram syncs out of the box, first to offer an external audio break out box, first have a blorb, first to launch a 7.1 audio card and now, FIRST to have a blue LED in the fan that is included with the card.

Based on the RADEON 9800 PRO 3D Prophet 9800 Pro graphics board features a 256-bit DDR memory interface and 8-pixel pipeline engine, 128MB of DDR RAM, Microsoft DirectX 9.0, OpenGL hardware support, incredible core (380Mhz) and Ram (340Mhz DDR) clocks, advanced filtering technologies (Anisotropic Filtering up to X16 and Full Scene Anti-Aliasing up to 6x) for high-quality rendering. As usual, Hercules has developed a set of customized features to exceed gamers' already high expectations.

Key features include: 380MHz core/340 MHz DDR RAM frequencies, copper cooling system: high thermal conductivity for optimized clocks settings, Heatsinks on the RAM, on the back of the VPU (Visual Processing Unit) and even on voltage controllers to stabilize the design even at high clock speeds, Silent cooling fan (< 28 dB), Full game included: Rainbow Six Raven Shield, and of course the very trendy look (blue LED).

As for delivery, Hercules expects you to see it on your retailers shelf sometime during the end April.
