High-definition (HD) PDP (plasma display panel) TV sales rose in 2005, overtaking ED PDP TVs for the first time on a year-to-year basis, according to Quixel Research. Around 64% of the total PDP TV market in units and 76% of the PDP TV market in value consisted of HD products.
