Hardware vendors brace for W2K
Server makers are preparing to take part in the impending launch of Microsoft Windows 2000.
The new operating system's improved scalability has Compaq, Unisys, EMC, and EMC's recently acquired Data General division getting ready to announce new servers and storage management systems focused on software and services.
Most of the initial offerings are designed for migration from NT to Windows 2000, rather than from Unix, according to analysts.
