Hardware/Software Combo for 3D Gurus
If there's a single group of computer users who simply can't get enough graphics and processor performance, it's 3D content creators. Whether they're developing games, special effects, or 3D architectural walkthroughs, faster machines can literally shave hours, days, or even weeks off a project's completion date. NVIDIA is targeting their new Quadro DCC directly at these users through an agreement with Discreet. NVIDIA says that its nfiniteFX engine will allow developers to program special effects - including vertex and pixel shaders - and view the results in "real-time." ELSA will sell the Quadro DCC as the ELSA GLoria DCC through Discreet's network of 3ds max resellers. Quadro DCC makes use of NVIDIA's ELSA MAXtreme application driver to improve 3ds max performance. The card lets users tune performance for DirectX and OpenGL applications and provides performance optimizations for both AMD and Intel-based workstations. The Quadro DCC is compliant with DirectX 8.1 and the OpenGL 1.2 Installable Client Driver.
