Happy Thanksgiving
It's always good to take a minute or two to think about what we're thankful for. Family, friends, health, whatever you've got is probably better than a poke in the eye with a sharp stick. I'm not generally known as one for pushing sap or heading up revival meetings, so I'll let you know that for this year's Thanksgiving holiday here in the U.S., I'm thankful to be taking a few days off to spend with my family. My Thanksgiving holiday is always decidedly low tech. I shut down all the machines, throw the cell phone in the desk drawer, and hop into my exceptionally (and thankfully) low tech '68 VW bus to disappear into the woods, sit by a campfire, and generally engage in fully planned acts of self-indulgence (there must be others out there who are afflicted with the automotive gearhead bug as well as being high tech gearheads, but that's a topic for another day). The gist is that there won't be any Hard News here at Tom's Hardware Guide until Monday the 26th (assuming I got the brakes on the bus working right this time). However, while I hope you'll miss me, there will be a special Thanksgiving article posted on Turkey day (Thursday the 22nd) as well as other new material posted on Friday the 23rd. See you on Monday.
