ArenaNet offers public beta of new Guild Wars game
Guild Wars fans will get another chance to battleeach other in an upcoming beta test of Guild Wars Nightfall. ArenaNet will offer a public beta test of the game between 28 July and 31 July. Players will fight and compete for virtual items that can be exchanged for real-life rewards at the end of the event.
Guild Wars Nightfall is set in a fictional desert continent containing floating mosques and sand worms. Two new professions will be available ; the scythe-wielding Dervish and the Paragon. The Dervish slices and dices multiple foes with their blades, while the Paragon cast beneficial spells on their parties.
Guild Wars is a massive online game focusing on player versus player (PvP) battles instead of player versus computer controlled monsters. Unlike other online games, Guild Wars has no monthly charges.
Public tests have been a big hit for ArenaNet. Back in April, more than 500,000 players tried out Guild Wars Factions. Guild Wars Nightfall is expected to be released towards the end of the year.
