During the single player missions you also gain access to new weapons such as a host of rifles, light machine guns and the flamethrower Gray Matter did so well in Wolfenstein. The light machine guns are quite interesting in that they can only be used when you are prone, because they are large and they take a little time to set up. Because of this, I found I used them very little, but someone with a different play style might love them. I enjoyed the flamethrower much more and changed my tactics considerably to suit it - its has a shorter range than you'd wish, though it is also more accurate than you might expect.

United Offensive features better fire and particle effects.
In addition to the new battles and weapons, new multiplayer modes and maps are also included. The new maps (eleven) are much larger than in the original, which is great when you use the vehicles that are now available in multiplayer. There are only around seven of them, but they really add to the fun in the new modes - Capture the Flag, Domination, and Base Assault. Base Assault is particularly fun as it demands teamwork and involves more than just taking over the enemy's base.

"Damn, I left my wallet in the truck!"
If you bought Call of Duty, then this is the perfect way to enjoy its digital greatness a little longer. It is true to the original in nearly every respect. If you didn't buy Call of Duty, think about what you bought instead and feel ashamed!
Now go buy the original and United Offensive to redeem yourself... and have a great time.
