Gore Joins Apple Computer
Former Vice President Al Gore has joined the Board of Directors of Apple Computer, it was announced on Wednesday. Gore is reported to now be an Apple Macintosh convert. During his 2000 Presidential campaign, he was often seen working on an IBM ThinkPad notebook computer. Gore reportedly has said that he is impressed with Apple's Mac OS X operating system as well as Apple's support of Linux's open source software philosophy. Gore will fill the vacancy on Apple's Board left by the departure of Larry Ellison, CEO of Oracle Corporation. Ellison resigned from Apple's Board of Directors last September.
