Google to Acquire Pyra Labs Blog
Google, a search engine for the Internet, announced that it will acquire the original unit of "bloggers," www.blogger.com , Pyra Labs. Internet Weblogs ("blogs") are global postings that are frequently updated, and appear in chronological order with the most recent news highlighted. Blogs connect users with varying points of view on a subject and also permit participation in online discussions. Blog groups are loosely organized groups of online users who generally have limited technical know-how, but enjoy sharing information and learning while communicating with other bloggers. A blog disseminates its news from an online source to other bloggers in the group, and the news travels from blog to blog around the world. Terms of the transaction between Google, a privately held company, and Pyra Labs were not available.
