Google loses 8.5% of share value after vowing to fight DOJ subpoena
Shares of Google traded sharply lower on the NASDAQ exchange today, in the wake of news that the company would stand alone in fighting a US Justice Dept. subpoena, seeking a random sampling of search queries submitted by users. The DOJ is defending itself in a Philadelphia court in a challenge to the Child Online Protection Act (COPA), brought against the US government by the American Civil Liberties Union.
