Mountain View (CA) - Google Calendar is making a move to cell phones with the addition of SMS alerts.
The web-based calendar app, which allows users to share their itineraries with the world, now has an option to sync to a mobile phone. For example, sending the word "next" to the short code 48368 will result in a reply with the next scheduled event on the user's Google Calendar.
Linking to a cell phone can be done under the "settings" tap on the calendar's website.
