Go To Hell! (Yeah, Again)

It's not often that a highly anticipated, big budget video game gets released the same week as its own expansion. Such was the case this month, when Doom 3 was released for Xbox at the same time that its expansion, Resurrection of Evil, hit store shelves. As I said, this has been rare up until now, but perhaps it is a trend for the future, as the number of gaming platforms available to consumers continues to grow.

Of course, you didn't click on the link to this article for prognostication, you came to get the scoop on the new game so you could make an informed purchasing decision - should you buy Doom 3 on the Xbox and/or the expansion? Well the answer is more complex than a simple "yes" or "no" - it has a lot to do with whether you have any history with the franchise, and especially, if you have already played Doom 3 on the PC.
For background, you need look no further than here to find our take on the PC version of Doom 3, including details of the game's content (which we won't duplicate in this review).
