Gigantic Maxtor Hard Drives
Maxtor just announced two new DiamondMax 5400 RPM hard drives: the 40 GB per platter DiamondMax D540X drive and the DiamondMax D536X, which can store a whopping 100 GB. To give you an idea of how much data the 100 GB drive can store, Maxtor says it'll hold 100 hours of compressed digital video or up to 25,000 four-minute MP3 files. All DiamondMax drives use the Ultra ATA/100 interface, a 2MB buffer, and provide a data and shock protection system. Pricing has yet to be announced. For more info, check out Maxtor's site .
