Gigabyte's AMD FSB266 Motherboards

by - source: Tom's Hardware

Gigabyte just announced a whole slew of motherboards for AMD Athlon and Duron CPUs that use a 266Mhz FSB. The company says it has improved design of the power supply and included an LCL filter to increase the stability of the boards. The DIY series comprises the GA-7DXR AMD 761 + VIA 686B, GA-7VTX VIA KT266 + VIA 8233, and GA-7ZXR/-C (rev. 3.0) VIA KT133A + VIA 686B boards with a heatsink and fan mounted on top of the north bridge. The GA-7DXR and GA-7ZXR (rev 3.0) supports IDE RAID, and the GA-7DXR and GA-7VTX support the PC1600/PC2100 DDR. GA-7ZXR (rev 3.0) supports PC133 SDRAM, and another version called the GA-7ZXR-C is similar but doesn't have RAID support. Gigabyte's Economy Series of motherboards includes the GA-7ZXC VIA KT133A + 686B, GA-7SDX SiS 733, and GA-7SRX SiS 735. GA-7ZXC and GA-7SDX support PC133 SDRAM, and GA-7SRX supports the PC1600/2100 DDR. Gigabyte's Integrated Series comprises the GA-7ZMMH VIA KM133A + 686B and GA-7VMM VIA KLE133 + 686B with built-in graphics and audio. The whole laundry list of motherboards are backward-compatible with FSB 200 CPUs.
