Gigabyte, Sapphire launch new Radeon graphics cards

Gigabyte unveiled a single-chip high graphics card based on ATI’s Radeon X850 XT Platinum Edition. The GV-RX85X256V-B comes with standard specs including a 540 MHz core clock (memory 590 MHz), 256 MByte GDDR3 memory, PCI Express interface, dual DVI ports, HDTV output with resolutions of up to 2048x1536 dpi and bundles the software Power DVD 5.0 Joint Operations, Thief, and SpellForce. Pricing has not been announced.
Sapphire also extended its product line with two new PCI Express boards, one based one the Radeon X800 chip, and the other one on the X800XL. Both cards are simply named after their graphics chip, integrate 256 MByte memory and are available now, according to the manufacturer. Pricing has not been announced. (THG)
