Genome data overwhelms
The Human Genome Project and associated protein research has produced so much data that its usefulness is limited by the state of information technology. Researchers who attended the BioSilico 2000 conference last week grappled with issues such as the need for standards, hoping that methods for sharing and using genetic data can be developed that will accelerate the delivery of new and personalized pharmaceuticals.
