Tom's Graphics Card Guide: 32 Mid-Range Cards Benchmarked

Noise Level in Relation to Performance

The winner of this test is the most power-hungry card. Point of View deserves kudos for its excellent cooler (though less so given the fact you can't find these cards anywhere in the U.S.); the Gainward GTX 560 Ti Phantom and the MSI HD 6870 TwinFrozr II follow closely.

What the hell! I thought the 6950 was generally faster than the 560ti?

    Same here. I can't understand how a 560Ti can beat a 6950.

The 560ti scales very well when it is overclocked. Look up the Gigabyte SOC on Guru3D and it ties or beats the 6970 in the games tested.

Also, did I miss the list of cards tested in this?

It wasn't that you missed the list of cards, it is that they missed cards in the list. There are no OC 6950s in here. 6950 OC, or even better, with shaders unlocked will destroy a 560Ti OC

Agreed, the test wasn't very fair, but all I was trying to say is that an OC 560ti performs around a stock 570 or 6970.

Why is it that I never see overclocked, cherry picked stuff from AMD vs nVidia or Intel, but keep seeing the opposite?

What is overclocked 560Ti doing in these charts please?

    No ASUS cards?
