GeForce GTX590 at PAX East; Asus, EVGA Only?
Ready for triple monitor 3D Vision?
Not to be outdone by AMD's Radeon HD 6990, Nvidia is supposedly going to unleash some dual-GPU goodness of its own at PAX East in Boston on March 11 to 13.
It's expected to be called the GeForce GTX 590, which will pack dual GF110 cores – the same that are right now inside the GTX 580. That means we will likely see 512 cores, 3GB of GDDR5, dual 384-bit memory bus and finally three DVI outputs for triple displays.
Those who wanted triple displays have always had AMD ATI Eyefinity cards as a solution, but Nvidia has the edge in providing 3D Vision along with it the multi-display. For those who love gaming in 3D, this will be the best solution yet on a single PCB.
Interestingly enough, sources close to Nvidia tell us that only Asus and EVGA will be offering the GeForce GTX 590 in the North American market. It's unclear why this will be the case, but hopefully we will get some kind of official response when the card goes public.

NOW GTX 590 vs AMD Radeon HD 6990.
OK, GF1100 fixed the Fermi woes with power draw, and the vapour chamber cooler fixed the heat, but surely 2 GF110s is going to be very hungry and volcanic? Unless they're disabling parts again and going with something like twin GTX 570s?
Oh and Nvidia, there's nothing wrong with DisplayPort - think of the extra space you'd have for air vents if you didn't use 3 DVI ports.
