Microsoft debuts larger 512MB memory unit for Xbox 360

by - source: Tom's Hardware

Microsoft has added a much larger 512MB memory unit to its Xbox 360 game console. The module will allow players to more game settings and also increase the limit for Xbox Live games from 50 to 150MB. Owners will also be able to take their module to a nearby game store and load up on content through a Xbox 360 kiosk.

Microsoft’s 512 memory unit will start selling on April 3rd 2007 for around $50. For a limited time, Geometry Wars : Retro Evolved will be packaged with the module for free. Microsoft is dropping the price on its 64MB module from $40 to $30, although it doesn’t really make sense to even think about purchasing the older module because of the scant $20 price difference for eight times less storage.
