GAMECUBE on Deck for This Weekend

Just a few days after Microsoft's release of the Xbox game console, on Sunday, Nov. 18, 700,000 Nintendo GAMECUBE systems go on sale across the U.S. for around $199.95. Nintendo says that 20 games for the console will be on the shelves by the holidays, and optimistically adds that even with hardware shipments on track to reach 1.1 million by Dec. 23, the company thinks that supplies might sell out in some locations. Among the nearly 20 games expected are four Nintendo titles: Luigi's Mansion, Wave Race: Blue Storm, Super Smash Bros. Melee, and Pikmin, all of which will be priced at $49.95. GAMECUBE measures 4.3" x 5.9" x 6.2", and is available in Indigo (blue) and Black. Extra controllers are priced at $34.95, and Memory Card 59 will be priced at $14.95. Games are also in development that will allow game play between GAMECUBE and Nintendo's Game Boy Advance. Let the console wars begin.
