The first version of the Game Boy, Nintendo's portable game machine, was marketed in Japan in 1989. Since then, this Japanese manufacturer and publisher has become the undisputed leader of its field. In the U.S., more than 12 million of these small 32 bit consoles have been sold! Needless to say, the machine has lots of fans. Sales of games cartridges are correspondingly high, totaling around 500 million.

There are currently more than 1000 titles on the market that were originally designed for the Game Boy Color, and 300 additional titles have appeared within the last two years, specifically for Game Boy Advance.
