by - source: Tom's Hardware

Fujitsu Ltd. will begin selling its first two notebooks next month based on Transmeta's Crusoe low-power chip. Both machines will be aimed at the Japanese market and will feature wireless Web access through plug-in cards. Prices will be $1481 and $1944 and will offer battery life of seven and eight hours. Sony has announced that it will deliver a sub-notebook based on Crusoe in October and IBM and Hitachi are expected to announce Crusoe-based portables. Gateway Inc. and America Online Inc. are developing an Internet appliance that will use Transmeta processors.
