Fujifilm's FinePix 6900 Zoom Digital Camera

Fuji Photo Film just unveiled its new FinePix 6900 Zoom digital camera with a 3.3 million-sensor Super CCD that generates image files of up to six million pixels (2832 x 2128 resolution in TIFF-RGB format) for enlargements and photo editing. The camera has manual focus and shutter controls, six shooting modes and 13 f-stop aperture control settings, and a multiple exposure mode and histogram display like those on Fujifilm's FinePix S1 Pro. The FinePix 6900 Zoom features a large-diameter, 6X Super EBC Fujinon aspherical zoom lens (f/2.8 - f/11) with a focal length equivalent to 35-210mm on a 35mm camera and a frame rate of 0.2 sec/frame for up to five frames. Shutter speeds range from 3 to 1/2000 sec., and the camera offers an adjustable ISO sensitivity of 100/200/400. Other features include a built-in, miniature electronic through-the-lens viewfinder, a two" LCD playback monitor and built in pop-up flash or hot shoe mount for flash systems. The FinePix 6900 Zoom also can capture and playback up to 160 seconds of AVI video. The little guy measures 4.3" x 3.1" x 3.7", and weighs 14.5 ounces. It will be available this month at an MSRP of $999, pretty steep for a camera targeted at "amateurs."
