Fuji snaps out three new Finepix cameras

Las Vegas (NV) - Two new entry-level cameras join a $300 model as the latest round of additions to Fuji’s line of Finepix digital cameras. Each of them is set to debut later this year.

Finally, the most advanced of the three is the Finepix F40fd, an 8 megapixel camera with one of Fuji’s latest technologies, face detection, which allows the camera to automatically identify up to ten different people in the picture and focus on them. Another feature is "Dual Shot Mode," which takes two pictures in rapid succession, one with flash and one without, with a single shutter click.

Additionally, the F40fd has picture stabilization, which promises to prevent blurry pictures even if the photographer moves or is shooting a moving target while taking the picture. It contains the latest version of Fuji’s CCD-HR chip and RP processor, allowing for better resolution of pictures in low-light environments.

The other two new cameras are the A800, with 8 megapixels, and the A610, a 6 megapixel camera, both of which come with the requisite entry-level features. The A800 and A610 are both set to launch in March and will carry retail prices of $180 and $130, respectively. The F40fd, also slated for a March release, will sell for $300.
