Aerocool ExtremEngine 3T: Huge 250mm Fans

by

A turbine fan just like a Boeing 747

Three special characteristics distinguish the Aerocool ExtremEngine 3T case. First, there are giant side-mounted fans, then two mirror-image swing-out front panels, and finally, a front panel that evokes the intake on a jet engine. Both of the door panels are made of thin, yet rigid aluminium, like the side panels. The connector between the front panels and the case frame, however, sticks out in a bad way, since it's made of cheap plastic. As attractive as the aluminium door panels might be, they too are encased in a plastic shell. This is also where the biggest potential for breakage occurs. This not only makes them more difficult to open and close - which also sometimes causes squeaking noises - it also makes them too loose and flexible. Once broken, you can forget about showing off the case's good looks.

The latest trend in ventilation is to use 250 mm fans in case side panels.

And there is nothing to complain about when it comes to the good looks of the ExtremEngine 3T case. The interplay of the front door panels goes well with the front panel fan. Even the 250 mm side-mounted fan goes a long way to help this Aerocool fan set distinguish itself from the rest of the pack. And when the system is powered up and its front and side turbine-style fans are turning, the noise is nothing like you'd expect. Indeed, despite their obvious aeronautical looks, these fans are both extremely quiet.
