Freescale extends foundry partnership to UMC, says paper
Leading communications chipmaker Freescale Semiconductor will extend its foundry partnership from its long-established partner Taiwan Semiconductor Manufacturing Company (TSMC) to United Microelectronics Corporation (UMC), according to a Chinese-language Economic Daily News report. UMC is currently awaiting validation from Freescale for its 90nm made handset base band chips.
