LTPS FPD market expected to top $6 billion in 2006
Flat panel displays based on low-temperature polysilicon (LTPS) is expected to generate revenues in excess of $6 billion in 2006 with reveneues expected to rise to almost $12 billion by 2009 - a 20% plus compound annual growth rate (CAGR) - making it one of the fastest growing segments of the entire display industry, according to research firm Displaysearch.
Since the mid 1990, the promise of higher performance LCDs with integrated IC functions has generated a huge amount of interest in LTPS.
