Everyone wants to stand out from the crowd, yet some people simply don't have enough time or skill to personalize things themselves. This concept, which applies to everything from cars to clothing, can even affect your choice of PC enclosure.

You'd like to break away with increased functionality or aesthetic harmony, to have anything but a PC sitting in your personal space. If you could specify the perfect enclosure, what would it look like? The answer won't come easily to most thoughtful people, because consideration of the many internal components, external drive access issues, heat management, and noise reduction stand in the way of pure artistic flair. And here we see the divide between artisans, craftsmen, and engineers: even those with the time and skill might not know where to begin!

While other contributors worked towards articles on ultimate homebuilt cases, I enlisted the aid of several TG Forumz members to find pre-built alternatives to classic designs. Some asked the right questions, others provided great answers, and the result was a variety of unique models that look like anything but what you'd find at the office.
