Hi, I searched online but didn't find the answer...maybe poor searching skill

I'm thinking of getting a small factor PC for photo editing.
Dell offers both CPU on small factor desktop PC
There are two options for CPU, both Core 2 Duo

Mobile CPU like P8600 T9600 or Desktop CPU like E8400
Is there a benchmark chart comparing mobile and desktop CPU for small factor PC.

Thanks a lot

Which Dell are you talking about? May we have a link?

The E8400 is ultimately more powerful than the P8600 or T9600. The advantage of mobile CPUs however is that they consume less power. If you're really serious about photo editing though, you'll need a decently powerful CPU, and at least 2GB of RAM.

Thanks for your reply: )

I'm thinking about Dell Optiplex 760 SFF and USFF

I found a benchmark list for some of the mobile and desktop CPU.
Seems mobile and desktop CPU with similar specs, the performance are around the same. e.g. T9550 vs E6700 both 2.6G 1066FSB 6/4MB L2

the T9550 will be better than the E6700 because it has more L2 cache.

Ok, here are 2 options to build your self. 1st OPTION 1- CPU: Athlon II X4 620 2- Mobo: ASUS M4A79XTD EVO 3- RAM: 2x2GB Crucial Ballistix Tracer 4- GPU: ATI HD 5770 5- HDD: Samsung spinpoint F3 6- PSU: Antec 550W 7- Case: Coolermaster HAF 922 8- Keyboard/mouse: Microsoft 9- Monitor: ASUS VW246H Price: $1,018.9 2nd OPTION The only change will be the processor for THIS Price: $ 1,031.9 If you have monitor, keyboard and mouse can reduce the price of this. Like i see, the $799 will be a good deal if have monitor, keyboard and mouse. Or spend a little more and build yourself.
