Now, i just find this post and what you write is true. Further more my computer shut down under windows installation about 3 times. Now that everything is installed properly, the PSU is squealing like crazy! I have both the Zalman ZM750-HP 750W Power Supply and the Gigabyte X58A-UD3R. Any one else have this problem? I am going to call both Zalman and Gigabyte to have this sorted out.

I am having the same problem. ZM750-HP with X58A-UD3R. PC is shutting down while installing WIN 7 64 bit. for some reason, the 32 bit installation run smoothly.
I am also having random shutdowns while running heavy video editing programs...

Yeah, that happened to me too, it worked fine with and AMD processor and 3gigs of ram. Then I got the X58A-UD3R and the intel stuff. Installed 64 Bit and it crashed halfway through. Tried 32 Bit and it worked fine. I ended up RMAing the Zalman and I bought my self a new CORSAIR HX Series CMPSU-850HX 850W PSU, It worked perfectly the first time and absolutely no squealing in games or loading screens like the Zalman had.

Hey guys, that's some interesting issue you speak of..Can anybody contact Zalman and / or Gigabyte for it? Just to explore the possible cause.

Yes I had a problem with the Zalman 750W power supply and the Gigabyte GA-X58A-3UDR motherboard. Windows would continually reboot on starting up.
Changed power supply to a Xigmatek nrp-mc751 750W and the issue was solved.
This was an extremely annoying problem and took quite a while to isolate and resolve.

Same here for Zalman 750W zm750-HP and P6X58D-E and No BSOD's ever ...

- Random reboots after OS Load
- Random reboots during OS Start driver initialisation
- Random Reboot saving games or other network access (Saving in my case on replay of Bioshock)
- Period Bios errors suggesting failed overclock

After full Memtest+ confirming that my 24GB ram was ok ....

--- Fixed by PSU Replacement .....

That PSU was total junk. I swapped it out for a Corsair HX850 and I have absolutely no problems.
