strange rules. to be party to the lawsuit, you had to buy directly from Nvidia or ATI??

Reply to roofus

That's what I thought, roofus. I didn't know you could buy directly from Nvidia and ATI.... don't they both sell exclusively to partners, who then sell the cards?

Reply to Dekasav

I had a X1900 AIW official ATI, same with my old 9800 XT, not sure about the X600 XT, but the X1950 was officially ATI mine:P Only none official I had was the powecolor X800 Xl.

If It was me, i wouldnt even bother... too long ago for me to help lawyers fatten their wallets...

I guess it's because I understand 1) lawyers, and 2) the terms of deceptive trade practice laws. To me this class action lawsuit is understandable -- not necessarily reasonable, but understandable. It's also legitimate.

When I received notice of this lawsuit a few months ago, I was able to read it, sign the necessary notice, and seal the envelope within 2 minutes. Why not bother to do that?

Yes, the lawyers are the only ones who will see any real financial benefit, but that's no reason for me to ignore deceptive and unfair trade practices. I joined the class action, and I eventually received a check for $124.10.

It will allow me to take my girlfriend out for a wonderful night on the town. NOTE: I live in Houston. A wonderful night out on the town doesn't cost that much.

I just received a check for $2000, though I probably spent close to that amount back then. Still, pretty lucky on my part.

Joined the class action a few months back by clicking through some stuff online. Let them take care of everything.

Printer useage
By fihart, 1 day ago:

Most go into sleep mode which presumably saves power and the printer starts more quickly than if it runs through the test routines usual when first powering up. I always turn my printer off after use -- but then I don't do much printing.
