Took all I have not to post a reply to that " it sucked so hard " ..... no xxx replies here I know ... but ..... twas tempting .... :kaola:

It's all in what you want to see while trying not to get drilled by an enemy . I myself don't have time to admire the super detail in the effects while playing . BUT that micro particle effect and exploding in pieces has to be there .... while i watch it ... with awwwwe wow being played in my brain I get thumped . But remember there are still some bugs in the game .... they told everyone it was'nt really finalized ... but released ... give them time for a couple of patches ... god they're still patching BF 2142 ! Best darn visual game I've seen so far . We local network players here love it . Tis Purrrrrty ! I turn the effects down for super high frame rates for real rank objective ... can't wait for a card that can be maxed at AA and highest detail to come out . Of course I've been waiting to win the powerball too ... LOL

It's the FY71, it's crap, the smallest magazine, the biggest spray, forced to use it pretty much single shot through most of the game (until I got the Gauss and the Precision rifle--- ooo yeah!)

Keeping with performance, more screens, medium 1280x1024 no AA, fps in corner.

They have body armor just like the US Army does, at close range you do more damage but at long range is a different story. Crysis isn't like your average shooter, like in GRAW 1 & 2 when you kill an enemy from far away with a chest shot. This isn't realistic as range with a silencer at long range you can only do so much damage to someone who is wearing body armor.

Go have a shoot out with a KPC at close range and see who dies first from chest shots only.

Well I finally got around to messing with Crysis GPU benchmark. I am playing at 1280x1024 Shaders/Shadows = medium, Post Processing Effects = low and all others = High. My fps in the benchmark were average = 65, minumum = 34 and maximum = 74. Guys if I were you lower your Post Effects it will give you 10 fps more and cause less shuttering ingame. Weather or not my ingame fps will match those GPU benchmark in a few days I will know. For those who don't know the CPU & GPU benchmark can be found in Bin32 folder.

The ending sucks, the final "boss" fight is too arcade-y. And why did they use a picture in the final cutscene as the VTOL flies away? Funny, the sphere is alot smaller in that background picture than it was when it grew after they used the nuke.

A bit too predictable all round I thought, but still fun. Absolutely loaded up with bugs though.

Well I for one think a lot of it is driver and patches. For instance, the 2900 series has a 512bit memory interface which should give it a boost in games. I remember back in the 9700Pro days they released the first 256bit bus and it made all the difference against a 128but bus.

My point is I don't think that the higher bit buses are being used properly. Especially with the 2900 series. I say give it a little time and with later driver updates we should be able to play it at a decent resolution and quality settings.

What I don't understand is why I can't even play it at 1024x768 with very high with 8x AA. Thing is at higher resolutions such as 1280x1024 AA is almost not needed.

yeah the ending was pretty lame. I guess after you've played so many games you can tell a good ending from bad crappy one.

They certainly left room for an expansion. :heink: Of course it's EA so we should've guessed that going in. :sol:

Now I'm gonna go and start it over and see if it's somehow different? Not expecting too much here tho' based on what I already know about this game. I wonder why they even said such a thing? :pfff:

anywho... I'll probably be playing in the sandbox before you know it.

Tried higher graphics mode buy by the eye .... looked about the same .... so went back to high . Anyone else download and copy the edited profiles peaked for the ATI's ? They worked .

After lots of testing ive come to teh conlcusion msot AA in crysis is useless, as it doesnt work ona nything, the one I have found to rock is 4x supersampling, where it simply reders the image 2x in each direction then shrinks it down.

Gives near-perfect image quality no jaggies to be seen, makes it look so much better :D

Even if I am playing 20 - 30FPS, which tbh, for w/e reason still looks great on crysis. All settings on high.

DirectX 9 mode
Shaders and Textures to High

Because almost all of the Crysis visual goodness in in the Shader and Texture settings, IMHO.

1920x1200 with textures and Shaders at high looks a helllalot better than everything at high 1680x1050 on my 24" LCD...

Im still considering whether to just use my 27inch TV 1280x720 for games or get a new screen. Wanteda good 1680x1050 but they are so pricey.. will just have 2 get a half decent one for £100 - £150...

Since atm crysis on high at my res with 4x SSAA gets about 25 - 30FPS I doubt im going to be able to run all that on a higher res *sigh*

Yeah, when running an LCD monitor, you lose alot of quality when you're not running at the native resolution. If I had a 22" I'd be running at the same settings you suggest. :)

That's the downside to having a 24" LCD. The only game I've come across that I can't run at high settings on everything is Crysis, but it runs incredibly well - and is still gorgeous - with Textures and Shaders at high.

I have 15+ FPS according to fraps throughout the entire singleplayer with my setup. I am @ 1280 X 1024 w/4X AA and all high settings in XP Pro 32bit. My Rig:

Foxconn NF4 ultra mobo
2 gigs of XMS running at DDR 266
eVGA 8800GT Superclocked running 680/1700/1920 (DDR) @ 80% fan
It only got choppy a few times.

My friend has a E6700 at stock 2.66
2 gigs of DDR2 800
and a 8800GTX (stock settings I think)
he runs the game with 4X AA @ 1920X1200 all medium in vista ultimate and he got about the same fps as me.

It plays great on my system, especially with my new C2D. I run it at 1680x1050 with 2xAA set in the driver. Shadows are low, Textures and Shaders and Physics are High and everything else is Medium! It really looks good at these settings and plays very smooth. I will try to run FRAPS tonight!

The size really does help you see soem of the smaller features also means I dont gota be so close due to the low resolution.

Im missing alot of qualit though simply because it lacks the number of pixels needed to display some of the fine settings.

Atm my 8800GT runs it at 25FPS average with 4x supersampling aa and all at high which makes it look incredibly stunning, havent put my water block or anything on yet so expecting a 5FPS increase from the high overclocking :D

Sometimes I do go to 18FPS btu its usually while things are louding + moving like when you first see teh bay in teh first level with teh sunset for a while its super slow but usually I get arund 25fps - 35fps even in combat.

My raid0 card is ordered so as soon as I get that vista is going on hopefully can afford the extra 4gb memory I want for xmas to bring me up to 6gb then itll rock, wc'ing gear is here too so im hoping that this and the crysis patch that comes out soonish will boost my performance by quite a bit.
