Hi there,

I recently purchased a HIS Radeon X1650 Pro Ice-Q 512MB AGP video card. I installed it correctly, making sure I powered it up using the floppy power cable. But when I boot up my PC the screen remains black, normaly it "jumps" on, the orange LED usualy becomes yellow, but it doesn't. The monitor just doens't get a signal. The fan on the videocard is running fine though. Although I can hear the harddrive spinning when windows is booting, the screen remains black. When I installed the videocard in another system it worked perfectly fine. I've tryed everything, for example I disconnected very piece of hardware leaving only the videocard, but it still doesnt work. There is a new BIOS update available for my motherboard, but it's a beta version, so I'm a bit anxious installing it. I also tryed using another monitor. Here are the specifications of my system:

ASUS K8V Deluxe Motherboard with BIOS v 1011
AMD Athlon64 3200+
2*512MB Kingston ValueRam
Tagan 480W Power Supply

And the specifications of the other system:
(works fine on this one)
MSI K3T Motherboard
AMD Athlon 1,15 Ghz
2*512 RAM
Unknown Power Supply

By the way, I've done some research on the internet and I found some other people with the same problem:

http://forums.filefront.com/showthread.php?p=3465226
http://www.driverheaven.net/showthread.php?t=126330

Haven't found a solution thouh.

BTW, excuse me for my bad english as it is not my motherlanguage :)

I realy hope somebody got a solution to this problem, whould realy appreciate it.

It has nothing to do with the BIOS...but I'm not sure what the problem is. Have you tried using both outputs from the video card?

Thanks for replying,

Yes I've tried both. VGA and VGA with DVI -> VGA adapter. Doesn't make a difference.

Have you tried putting another card BACK IN (since the problem arose) to see if the slot's still good?

Yep, my old videocard works fine, nothing wrong with the AGP slot.

Printer useage
By fihart, 1 day ago:

Most go into sleep mode which presumably saves power and the printer starts more quickly than if it runs through the test routines usual when first powering up. I always turn my printer off after use -- but then I don't do much printing.
