Anyone waiting for a big Nvidia news blowout at Game Developers Conference (GDC) or Nvidia's own Graphics Technology Conference (GTC), both coming up later in March, will probably be disappointed.

  1. Mercury estimates AMD gained a substantial 6.3% QoQ in market share from Nvidia in the fourth quarter of 2017. This is a pretty spectacular feat and is yet another sign that Nvidia does not have as dominant a hold on the market as some might have expected. AMD is putting pressure on the market and that is why Nvidia is holding it cards looking for a knockout with it's next release.
  2. i'd say because of the mining craze AMD's share has gone up, not for the Gaming side, for if you want to game its Nvidia all the way.

    No Doubt but more market share is still more market share. People who buy AMD cards could be using them for paperweights but AMD still gets a cut of the GPU sold.
