Blue screen of death, "DRIVER_IRQL_NOT_LESS_OR_EQUAL"

I keep getting this blue screen of death randomly accompanied by a loud buzzing sound from the speakers for a split second. Sometimes the blue screen will also say "what failed: D_rtwlanu.sys"

  1. realtek lan drivers, do you have a wireless lan card in PC? MY guess is it doesn't have win 10 drivers so you probably need a new card.

I appreciate the help, I don't have a wireless lan card, at least not that I know of. I built my own PC and I'm using a D-Link wi-fi adapter which connects through a USB.

I appreciate the assistance, the wi-fi adapter I have is a D-Link DWA-192 AC1900 Adapter. However, when I'm looking through my Device Manager under "Network adapters" I see both the adapter I have as well as something called "Realtek PCIe GBE Family Controller". Is this what you were referring to earlier?

its likely your motherboard has a Realtek lan connector as well even if you aren't using it currently. Realtek also make sound cards and other controllers that motherboard makers use. Almost every motherboard uses them for audio now

the driver I was talking about is used as the driver on your wireless card. The latest drivers for it are here: http://support.dlink.com.au/Download/download.aspx?product=DWA-192&type=Drivers
