intel core i5-7500 or Ryzen R5 1600

So I have heard some people saying intel core i5-7500 is good for gaming. But the Intel one just have 4 core 4 thread and Ryzen have 6core 8 thread , which is Ryzen have better core and thread than the Intel and the clock speed just a little bit different. Which one is good for gaming ??? I know the Ryzen stock cooler are better Intel stock cooler

Price (In Malaysia Country) :
Intel core i5-7500 $210 (RM915)
Ryzen R5 1600 $239 (RM1039)

My PC specs:

Zotac GTX 1070 AMP Edition 8GB
Geil EVO X 2400mhz ( 2x8GB ddr4)
Mobo: Asus ROG Strix B250F (Intel)
:Gigabyte AB350-Gaming 3 (AMD)

  2. The ryzen is hands down a better & more future proof CPU.
At stock it matches the 7500 & then taken into consideration its actually overclockable on the stock cooler.

Worth the price difference IMO easily.
