Windows 10 asking for product key

ok so i got windows 10 back when it was free and had no issues until today, i upgraded my motherboard, cpu and ram and suddenly in the bottom right corner it says "Activate windows, go to settings to activate windows"

    windows sees that as a new/different pc than you had before

    New motherboard, the OS sees it as a new system..

    You should have done this before the hardware change:

    Now, after the hardware change, your only recourse is to call MS and plead your case.

    Thanks, I contacted Microsoft and they managed to give me my windows 7 key from 2012/2013

    Now, after the hardware change, your only recourse is to call MS and plead your case.
