Just got my first 1440p monitor. Cant set it to that resolution. HELP!

have a 6950 2gb as my video card. Currently connected via hdmi

  1. Some monitors don't actually support 1440P over the HDMI. I have a dell that has that issue.

    I'd suggest trying displayport if possible.
  2. Yes get a displayport cable. HDMI is not the optimal high performance video cable. I use hdmi for my media screen but i use Displayport for my gaming screen.

    my video card only has mini DP, is there some kind of converter out there? The handbook states that hdmi 1.4 and 2.0 should work

    My old monitor, now the secondary one, wont even power on. Its dvi to hdmi. i get blue screens/ shutdowns if its connected.
    Is there a way to link the blue screen report?
