ASUS Motherboard replacement or upgrade question.

Hi,
My comp died on me last week, basically it wont turn on now. It had been running noisy and I knew it needed a clean, it's 3 years old.
I took it to a local repair shop and they tested the power unit which was fine but they told me the motherboard is dead.
I can get the exact same motherboard from amazon https://www.amazon.co.uk/ASUS-M5A78L-M-USB3-motherboard-Socket/dp/B00DQO9L1Q/ref=sr_1_1?s=computers&ie=UTF8&qid=1466270446&sr=1-1&keywords=ASUS%C2%AE+M5A78L-M%2F for 50 quid and I figure thats a good place to start.

However, is there a better motherboard I can get that will be compatable that wont break the bank, say under £100?
{If you have an idea of an upgraded motherboard, perhaps you could also sugguest an upgrade for my graphics card that would be compatable and maybe less than £150?}

Also, my comp seems to get a lot of dust and runs noisy and hot (Especially the CPU). Apart from cleaning it more often, how can i fix this problem? Will adding another or upgrading the CPU fan help? I didnt really want to upgrade my CPU because of the expence.

(NB, I will probably be atempting a self build in the next year to 18 months so thats why i dont really want to spend too much on upgrades)

Many thanks in advance for your time

  1. That motherboard requires a top-down blower style CPU cooler to keep the VRM from getting too hot and throttle the CPU at high loads; that applies to all AMD based motherboards with a 4+1 phase VRM and a 125W CPU. If I were you I consider the better GIGABYTE GA-78LMT-USB3; it includes a heat sink to help cooling the VRM.

    Hi mate, thnx for your time.
    Is this the one you recomend? https://www.amazon.co.uk/gp/product/B008TZZ4WC/ref=ask_ql_qh_dp_hza
    If it is, I'm not sure its better because it does not mention a heat sink but I'm a noob.

    I think this one is my original motherboard https://www.amazon.co.uk/ASUS-M5A78L-M-USB3-motherboard-Socket/dp/B00DQO9L1Q/ref=sr_1_fkmr1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1466432540&sr=8-1-fkmr1&keywords=ASUS%C2%AE+M5A78L-M%2FUSB3+%28M-ATX%2C+DDR3%2C+USB+3.0%2C+3Gb%2Fs%29
  3. This is the one that I recommended: https://www.amazon.co.uk/Gigabyte-GA-78LMT-USB3-Motherboard-Gigabit-Ethernet/dp/B00C2DTAMW/ref=sr_1_fkmr1_2?ie=UTF8&qid=1466434363&sr=8-2-fkmr1&keywords=IGABYTE+GA-78LMT-USB3 The one that you linked is worse than the Asus M5A78L-M/USB3; it only has a 3+1 phase VRM with no heat sink.

    I cant thank you enough for the informative and prompt reply. It amazes me that I can get good, prompt advice for free on the net but yet some people who do this for a living in shops cant really be bothered.
    Hopefully changing out the Motherboard will fix my prob.
    Thank you again.
