Using macbook pro as gaming monitor for gaming pc...?

would there be any possibility of that ever happening i have nvidia gtx980 ti graphics card and HDMI cables? maybe we could connect the two but maybe not...

also any software that would make this possible without latency issues?

the retina display is just perfect and my tv isn't cutting it in 1080p?

any help greatly appreciated.

Well it depends on what you mean by "crazy expensive".

    For under $300, there's this 1440p display: http://www.amazon.com/Acer-G257HU-smidpx-25-Inch-Widescreen/dp/B00QS0AKVK/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1434829938&sr=8-1&keywords=acer+1440p

    For $350 there's this UHD: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16824009832

Those are probably the best deals at the moment for high resolution displays. That said, I've seen a bunch of open box and refurbished deals if you're okay with used or open products.
