DVI-D monitor will work on a DVI-D output video card (both dual link) ?

Config:
2560x1440 DVI-D dual link monitor
Evga GTX 750 Ti DVI-I dual link output

Will this configuration work, and able to use the native resolution?

Thanks

Yes. The I in the DVI-I stands for integrated... meaning it carries both digital and analog signals. That would be the port one would use if one needed to connect a VGA (analog) monitor via an adapter.

So in another word, the DVI-D dual link monitor (2560x1440) will work perfectly fine with my DVI-I dual link card?

A DVI-I port is exactly the same thing as a DVI-D port except it has the extra analog signals if you need them for a passive VGA adapter or the odd few displays that support analog input over a DVI connector.

You'll be fine. But that's a lot of pixels and texels per frame to for that card to render when gaming. If you are a gamer, that really is a 1080p card at best.

Hello! I rarely play games on my PC and it's mainly for photo editing work. I am planning to get this card because the monitor (27" 2560x1440) that I am looking at only has DVI dual link input and my integrated video chip (HD4600) doesn't support dual link. Also this card uses the latest Maxwell die and that will benefit the Photoshop software.

However I am open to any other video cards as long as it supports dual link DVI and uses latest Maxwell die.
  8. That's the only Maxwell Nvidia has released so far. If you don't game, there's no worry.
