Hi all,

i have a smal (well not sure tbh :( problem)). when im playing a game (COD WAW, bf2, crysis, FC2 or any other) my FPS are always around 30-60 to 90FPS. now im not sure if its a CPU bottle neck or a GPU problem.

my specs:

Intel Core 2 quad Q6600 65NM G0 @ 2.4 ghz gonna try it @ 3.5 Ghz
Asus maximus Formula
Team Xtreem Dark 800 mhz 4 gig
Asus EAH4870X2 TOP 2 gig GDDR5 both cores : GPU 800Mhz memory 1000Mhz tested @ stock and the OC
Corsair XT750W
Scythe Mugen CPU cooler
Windows XP pro 32 bit
LG FLatron wide 20.1" (1680*1050) main screen
Acer AL1717 17" (1280*1024) secondary screen

might it be the CPU beeing a bottle neck that im beter of whit a Q9550 @ 2.83 or higher?

btw how big is the fabracation proces of Q9550 only 45NM ?

if i would place a Intel Core™ 2 Quad Q9650 3,00 GHz would it be any beter?

well i can expect soem thing beter out of X2 or not ? i personly think that a 4870X2 can preform more then 100 FPS in bf2, my little brother has the 4870 512MB znd he easy shoots over 150FPS ...

is that worrying for me or you ?

Reply to ice_killer

ok, so it all running fine :), i thought deu to the performce of a X2 it was not realy good but according you its normal

Reply to ice_killer

no bottlenecking there.

Reply to mamw93

hope not for ya, its looking like a nice setup :)

thanks for the help :)

Reply to ice_killer

Your benchmarks are very low surly is not fine.

Reply to michaelmk86

well, cna you show me what it needs to be ?

Reply to ice_killer

For example a system:
Q9550 Quad @ 3.8ghz 4870x2 Catalyst 8-10
small ranch 1920*1200 4xAA ultra high avg 61 min 44

ice_killer
small ranch 1680*1050 8xAA very high avg 39 min 24
surly something wrong is going on.

You are a fool.

Please explain how using different settings, at different res with a cpu clocked 1.2ghz higher is any comparison, even with FC2 looking more gpu limited than cpu, it is useless.

Q9550 Quad @ 3.8ghz 4870x2 Catalyst 8-10
small ranch 1920*1200 4xAA ultra high avg 61 min 44

Cleary you see that (1920*1200 4xAA ultra high) is higher settings than (1680*1050 8xAA very high)
if the cpu is 3.0 or 3.8 doesn’t rally mater

ice_killer
small ranch 1680*1050 8xAA very high avg 39 min 24

39fps is very low for a 4870x2.

Printer useage
By fihart, 1 day ago:

Most go into sleep mode which presumably saves power and the printer starts more quickly than if it runs through the test routines usual when first powering up. I always turn my printer off after use -- but then I don't do much printing.
