Sales of 1080p microdisplay RPTVs overtakes those of 720p, says Quixel Research

i was wondering if i where to get a blu-ray drive and to watch stuff in say 720p..make it full screen would i see any boxed edges or quility loss, on the same note is there any way to scale down 1080p to 1680x1050 and not have any quality loss...
